The 2023 Expo was in Hannover, Germany for 3 days (21st, 22nd and 23rd of March 2023)
Tire Technology Expo Conference brings together leading industry figures for three days of presentations, discussions, and networking on the latest developments in tyre manufacturing, scientific advances, sustainability and the global tyre business.
For 2023, the show incorporated 220 exhibitors and the annual Tire Technology Expo Conference, with more than 130 speakers, held in conjunction with a series of short courses.
The Tire Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence were also set to be presented live during the event, recognizing key industry achievements over the past 12 months.
Orion was present on the Tire Technology Expo with a booth and gave a conference on the 22nd of March 2023.
Conference was on Day 2: Wednesday, March 22 – 14:25 and is entitled : Sustainable carbon black: orion’s goals, projects and achievements. The speaker was Michael Warskulat, Technical Marketing Manager, Orion Engineered Carbons, GERMANY
Synopsis: Orion has been the front runner for sustainable carbon blacks. With PRINTEX Nature, it produced the first carbon black from renewable feedstock. Another path is the use of tyre pyrolysis oil as a feedstock. In the frame of the EU-funded project BlackCycle, several carbon black grades have been produced which perform like traditional carbon blacks from fossil feedstocks. A third path is based on recovered carbon black which will be upgraded by a cleaning and blending process. This presentation displays where Orion stands with its projects, which products are commercially available and what the next milestones are.
