BlackCycle wins the TireTech award

We are delighted to announce that BlackCycle has been honored with the ‘Year’s Environmental Achievement of the Year – Industry Contribution category’ award at this year’s Tire Technology Awards for Innovation and Excellence.

Initiated in 2020, the BlackCycle Project, spearheaded by Michelin and involving 12 European partners of diverse backgrounds and sizes (Orion, Ineris, Quantis, Icamcyl, Aliapur, CSIC, CPERI/CERTH, Sisener, Pyrum, Estato, Hera, and Axelera), aims to establish, develop, and optimize a comprehensive Value Chain for a tire circular economy.

Supported by European initiatives, the project has galvanized the entire ecosystem, paving the way for a robust circular tire economy with positive environmental implications. This award follows the project’s earlier recognition with the Recircle Award for the “Best tire recycling research project” in 2023.

Ahead of its conclusion in June 2024, a final workshop is scheduled on May 28 and 29 in Saarbrücken, Germany, to disseminate all project findings and insights.
