CSIC

The CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) is Spain’s largest public research institution and ranks third among Europe’s largest research organisation. The CSIC has 4 main missions:

CSIC has 10 940 employees, including 3 764 researchers. CSIC has 123 Institutes spread across the country and covering different areas of Science and Technology.

CSIC supports research and training across a wide range of knowledge, from the most basic or fundamental aspects of science to the most complex technological developments; from human and social sciences to food science and technology, including biology, biomedicine, physics, chemistry and materials, natural resources and agricultural sciences.

Instituto de Carboquímica is a research centre that belongs to CSIC. It is structured in different research groups focused on energy, environment and the development of new carbon-based materials. The Environmental Research Group develops its activities within this institute owning different pyrolysis experimental facilities and analytical techniques that will be used in the Blackcycle project framework. Along the last years, this group has positioned as one of the most relevant groups around the world in waste tyre pyrolysis publishing more than 30 papers in different high impact factor scientific journals.
