The Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH) founded in 2000 is one of the leading research centres in Greece and listed among the TOP-20 EU research institutions with the highest participation in competitive research grants. CERTH has important scientific and technological achievements in many areas including: Energy, Environment, Industry, Mechatronics, Information & Communication, Transportation & Sustainable Mobility, Health, Agro-biotechnology, Smart farming, Safety & Security, as well as several crossdisciplinary scientific areas.
CERTH includes five institutes, including the CPERI, whose mission is to conduct high calibre basic and applied research, to develop novel technologies and products and to pursue scientific and technological excellence in selected advanced areas of Chemical Engineering, including Energy, Environment, Materials and Process Technologies, in response to the needs of the Greek and European industrial and productive sector. In addition to basic and applied research, CPERI pursues actively technology transfer and the development of new commercial products and services. These achievements have been recognised by the international industrial community and have resulted in the award of several industrial research and technical service contracts.
Role in the project
Research into ex situ catalytic and thermal upgrading, hydrodesulphurisation and catalytic processing of pyrolytic oil.
